Today was my due date, and I have to be thankful that it was so peaceful. I woke up late...like 11:00 am late! I worked really hard all day yesterday to get the baby room ready, and everything got put away and organized, so I feel pretty good about that. It was very tiring, though, so the late sleep this morning was well-earned. A couple preview shots of Greg putting the furniture together in preparation of my organizing...
So, today I got to relax and sit for a good while in the really comfy glider we have for Baby Mo's room, and I had the luxury of just spending time with my thoughts and enjoying how good it felt to be in that space. I can't wait to finish some of the final small details, and I really can't wait to spend time with our baby girl here.
We also had the joy of visiting with our good friends Matt and Jen, who gave birth to their son, Owen, yesterday morning at 7:15 am. (Check out Greg with Baby Owen below...he's a natural.) Owen is a beautiful boy (8 lbs. 4 ozs.) with a full head of dark hair like his mommy. Jen is doing great, and I can just see how much love they both have for this lucky little guy. They are already amazing parents, and we're all looking forward to the many adventures we'll have with our kids in the future. We couldn't be more lucky to have such great friends, and we're happy to welcome their son into the world!
I was hoping that visiting them at the hospital where I'll be delivering would inspire Baby Mo to come...and well, let's just say that it may have...
I'm finally having regular contractions tonight!
They started around 10:45 pm while Greg and I were finishing up a late dinner, and I've been having them ever since. So, of course, what else do you do when you're up in the middle of the night with regular contractions (but not regular enough to go to the hospital)...get one last blog entry in before things get hectic. It's a way to distract myself and also a way to let everyone following know what's going on. It's very likely that we'll be having Baby Mo in the next 24 hours, so wish us luck, and I'll let you know how it all goes once she's finally here!
So excited! We were thinking about and talking about you guys last night. Our thoughts are with you! Good luck! And can't wait to hear what her name will be!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you yesterday when I had lunch with Erin Ferry. She reminded me that your due date was yesterday. So, I'm wondering if you had her already. I am waiting to have my baby boy soon too. Although, he's not due until July 30, my doc says I'm already dilating and his head is lowering into position. He may be here this week or next. ReplyDeleteCongratulations to you and Greg!
